Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru - Situated nearly 290 km away, Bengaluru’s airport provides the widest range of domestic and international flight connections. From here, travelers can continue by rental car, private cab, or luxury coach service, with the drive lasting around 5 to 6 hours.
Although Coorg does not have its own railway station, there are nearby railheads that provide convenient access to the region.
Mysuru Junction Railway Station - Around 95–120 km from Coorg, this is the most commonly used railway station for visitors heading to Madikeri. Taxis and KSRTC buses are readily available, and the onward journey takes roughly 3 to 3.5 hours.
Mangaluru Central Railway Station / Mangaluru Junction Railway Station – Located about 140 km away, followed by a scenic 4-hour drive through the lush Western Ghats.
Traveling by road to Coorg is an experience in itself, with winding mountain roads, forest stretches, and panoramic views of the Western Ghats.
From Bengaluru: The journey covers approximately 250–270 km via the Mysore–Madikeri Highway and usually takes 5 to 6 hours. Several KSRTC and private Volvo buses operate regularly, both during the day and overnight.
From Mysuru: A pleasant drive of around 2.5 to 3.5 hours through well-connected hill roads. Frequent bus and shared jeep services are also available.
From Mangaluru: A beautiful 4-hour drive through the scenic Sampaje Ghat route, known for its greenery and mountain landscapes.
